La Rumba.net Party Group

LaRumba has been hosting events with Live Cuban Music for over 12 years.Their dance parties in New York City have started as an “alternative” to the mainstream salsa events. The events, that started with a group of friends and a local band, soon grew into a large loyal crowd of professionals and artistic people of all nationalities.
In gathering such large and diverse crowds looking for a place where to meet and dance to Live Cuban Music, LaRumba has also been instrumental in supporting, making popular and giving birth to numerous bands.
NYC is the home of a large number of extremely talented musicians who’s hearts are somehow in the Cuban music. In fact, many of them are award winning , grammy nominated or members of large mainstream bands that are either members of one of our featured bands or are frequent guests.
Some of the bands and guests musicians that have played at our events are:
Los Faquires, Mo’ Guajiro, Son Sublime, Nelson Gonzalez & Son Mundano,Ochún, Pan Con Timba, Son De Madre, Grupo Caribe, Mango Blue, Alex Alvear, Manguito, Yuka, SeKa, Soneros De Oriente, Danny Rojo, David Orquendo, Habana Tres, José Conde, La Bolá, Chico Alvarez, Conjunto Guantanamo, , Jimmy Bosch, Gonzalo Grau, La Clave Secreta, Lisandro y Su Tratado,Grupo Irék, Nu’ Guajiro, Tiempo Libre, Puppy Lagarreta, Alfredo de la Fe, Chocolate Armenteros, Juan Pablo Torres, and many more.

I am so happy to read that these guys are back! I discovered Cuban music in an event they used to have at NoMoore, in Tribeca. That was around ….1998. I followed laRumba’s events and was a regular at their parties at LaBelle Epoque and Nells. I made so many friends there …. so many girlfriends
by Richard on 14 December 2008 at 9:43 pmI actually met my girlfriend with whom we have been traveling for six months around south america at LaRumba.
NY was not the same after LaRumba.net stop hosting their events.
I can wait to get back to NYC, meet my buddies & dance to cuban salsa at one of their parties … & with Obama as president, what more can I ask for?!
