Beginning at 10pm on Wednesday the 31st, Macondo will be celebrating a traditional Spanish cotillion. This is a party celebrated all over Spain on New Year’s Eve, in which the tradition is to invite friends in such a way that while many guests may be strangers at the start of the night, everyone is connected to one another through friendships. The Cotillon will begin with an open bar from 10pm until 2:30am, which will include beer, wine, sangria, liquor and a limited selection of our specialty cocktails. Beginning at 10:30, Macondo will serve a buffet-style three course dinner planned and prepared personally by Chef Ben Root and Executive Chef Maximo Tejada, to include such staples as spicy grilled shrimp (camarones al Diablo), crispy Cuban-style pork (cochinillo), Spanish seafood Paella, and cinnamon and sugar churros with hot chocolate for dessert. Then Macondo will serve a cava toast at the stroke of midnight, and a live DJ will play festive Latin songs to help all guests dance the night away. Though the open bar will end at 2:30, Macondo will remain open until 4am.
